Football is a huge passion of Gary’s and when the opportunity arose to develop a new brand identity for local football team he plays for, Thornton Dale FC, it was something he jumped at!

Thornton Dale FC have two senior men’s football teams competing in Division 1 and Division 2 of the Beckett League in North Yorkshire. At the start of the 2017/18 season, both teams were in dire need of new sponsorship and new kit. 1st team player Craig Sunley of C Sunley Joinery sponsored the 1st Team and ex player Will Dunnet of Just Climb sponsored the Reserve Team. Design offered to produce a new brand identity that the club could be proud of going forward.

The concept behind the identity was to give the identity a modern feel but also to reference the previous incarnations of the club crest which have all featured a Buck, now synonymous with the village of Thornton le Dale. The local pub where both teams head back to after each home game is also called The Buck Inn so there is an added reference there too.

The brand identity is an abstract figure of a buck but with a human essence. The lower half of the logo representing a football player standing, chest out, proud to represent the team.
